Located just south of the Raa Atoll and
to the North of the Male Atoll, a total of 50 islands make
up Baa Atoll. Only 13 of these are inhabited with the total
population going up to be 11,910 at the last count. Most of
the inhabited islands lie on the eastern side of the atoll.
Some of the uninhabited islands have been converted into luxury
resorts for tourists, with each island being a resort.
The resort islands lie unexploited in their pristine beauty
and are ideal for vacations. The Baa atoll hosts some of the
top diving
and surfing
sites. The presence of marine life like whale sharks and mantas
in the surrounding waters provides amazing snorkeling and
diving opportunities. |
