Mumbai, a major cosmopolitan city and the hometown of bollywood is a city that attracts the young and the old. The beach and the Victorian landscape combined with the nightlife offers an irresistible package.
 

The Gateway of India is an exaggerated colonial marker conceived following the visit of King George V in 1911.

 

This place is highly fashionable downtown.Situated in the southern corner of peninsula.A must visit for all the travellers as it boasts of excellent shops,cafes and stalls provided one knows how to bargain.

 

Fort Area, also known as the commercial centre of the wonder city Mumbai, represents the Victorian Gothic style of the Northern England.

 

One of the most popular attractions of Mumbai - Marine Drive shares the shoreline of the Arabian Sea, stretching from the Nariman Point till the Malabar Hills. It was built in 1920.

Chowpatty is the most famous beach in Mumbai. Though the beach remains almost solitary during the day, it comes alive life in the evening.

30 km from the city, Juhu is a crowded beach surrounded by residential appartments and bungalows.

Malabar Hills is one of the best suburbs of Mumbai. The residents in the area are favoured with paronomic views of the Back Bay.

 

At the very tip of Arabian sea is this old mosque situated, which can only be reachable when ever there is low tide.

 

Situated near the Gateway of India, it was designed in the Indo-Saracenic style to commemorate the king's first visit to India in 1905.

 

The beautifully laid out gardens are a nature lover's delight, with a vast collection of rare species of flora and fauna.

 

Situated on Malabar hill, these gardens were laid out in the year 1881 on the top of a reservoir.

 

India's largest amusement park, Esselworld, situated on the Gorari island is the first of it's kind.

 

The rock-cut temples on Elephanta island, 9 km north-east of the gateway of India, are Mumbai's major tourist attraction.

 

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Walkeshwar Temple is the most important temple in the Banganga Tank. The original , dedicated to Lord Rama.

 

Bombay Stock Exchange (Mumbai) is India's largest stock exchange. Around 8000 companies are listed on the Brouse, and daily trading volumes are counted in the billions of rupees, making it the largest stock exchange after Tokyo. It is the financial exchange nerve centre of Mumbai, and the security here is tight.

 

Bandra, the new face of Mumbai, known as the 'queen of suburbs', is the first of the city's outlying areas to offer a credible lifestyle alternative to south Mumbai.

 

Mumbai Zoo occupies the area of the Veermata Jijabai Bhonsle Udyan Botanical Garden. It contains tigers, lions, elephants, bears and monkeys. There is a bronze statue of king Edward VII astride a black horse. There is also a delightful plant house with a skeletal iron framework and a wooden lattice skin.
